Pakt: Bridging Blockchain, AI, and Opportunity

From Hollywood to Blockchain

Joyce’s journey into blockchain is anything but conventional. Having spent years in Hollywood as a screenwriter and executive, he witnessed firsthand the exploitation of creative professionals. "You’re either the one being exploited or the one being asked to exploit," says Joyce.

His exposure to blockchain began in 2012 with the Bitcoin whitepaper, but it wasn’t until he encountered Avalanche’s whitepaper that everything clicked. "Ethereum was brilliant, but its scalability issues weren't being solved. When I read Avalanche’s novel consensus mechanism, I knew I had to get involved," says Joyce.

His blockchain journey took him from Hollywood to the world of digital commerce, fantasy sports, and ultimately, a deeper understanding of how technology could empower creators.

Building with A Global Mission

Pakt World was born from a desire to use blockchain to reduce exploitation. Joyce’s technical co-founder, Olusegun Komolafe, was developing blockchain pilots for banks and logistics firms in Nigeria. Together, they saw a broader vision, one that could impact not just Africa, but the entire world.

Their first concept, AfroFund, aimed to connect African tech talent with global opportunities. “Why stop at Africa?” asked Matt Palmieri, Pakt’s third co-founder. “Why not build a platform so that people can create these solutions globally?” he asked. This shift in thinking led to the making of Pakt.

By October 2022, Pakt was gaining serious traction. At a Bay Area demo day, industry giants like a16z, Dragonfly, and Circle voted Pakt the top project. Shortly after, they secured their first $100,000 investment and made a bold move to relocate the team to Rwanda to accelerate development.

ChainSites: The WordPress for Web3

One of Pakt’s key innovations is the Pakt Command Center, a tool that allows users to launch blockchain-powered websites and platforms in minutes. "WordPress was the OS for Web2, enabling anyone to build a website. We want to do the same for Web3, but instead of websites, for ‘Chainsites’," Joyce says.

With the Pakt Command Center, users can create decentralized platforms quickly, affordably, and with built-in blockchain functionality. The approach eliminates the rigid, expensive structures of Web2 by introducing a pay-for-what-you-use model. "Instead of being locked into annual subscriptions, builders can iterate, experiment, and scale without upfront risk," he said.

The ultimate goal? To empower innovators with a flexible, scalable blockchain business stack that integrates AI for prompt-to-build and prompt-to-earn capabilities.

Lessons from a Founder: Challenges and Insights

As a startup in the rapidly evolving blockchain space, Pakt faces challenges ranging from scalability to security. "The biggest mistake early founders make is assuming that because they have a good idea, the market will come. You have to find your early customers, even if they aren’t your ideal ones," Joyce advises.

Security is another major concern. Pakt recently partnered with Resonance Security to conduct a deep-dive penetration audit, ensuring their platform is built on a secure foundation. "With billion-dollar hacks happening, security isn’t optional, it’s critical," says Joyce.

Beyond the technical hurdles, there’s also a branding challenge. The term ‘crypto’ carries baggage scams, volatility, and regulatory scrutiny. Joyce is careful to frame Pakt as a blockchain infrastructure company rather than a speculative crypto project. "We’re about creating real-world value, not chasing hype," he says.

2025 and Beyond

Joyce believes 2025 will be a breakthrough year for blockchain adoption. Pakt is gearing up to launch Pakt.Fund, a community-driven funding model that aligns with their vision of stakeholder capitalism. "Instead of just raising from VCs, we want our early supporters to have a real stake in what we’re building," he says.

Additionally, Pakt is rolling out custom Layer 1 blockchain solutions, allowing businesses to launch and manage their own blockchains seamlessly. "The industry is moving from shared networks to dedicated, modular blockchains. We’ve built the tools to make that transition painless," Joyce explains.

Joyce’s journey, from Hollywood to Web3, from Nigeria to Rwanda, from startups to securing major partnerships embodies the disruptive potential of blockchain. His message to other founders? "Do good, get paid."

For those looking to build in Web3, Pakt World is creating the infrastructure to make it easier than ever. "The future isn’t about crypto speculation, it’s about empowering creators, businesses, and communities with real blockchain utility," says Joyce.

With a strong vision, an innovative tech stack, and a commitment to decentralization, Pakt World is positioning itself as a leader.
