Your Security Score
Your security score is a measure of your organization's commitment to cybersecurity and is based on three primary areas: Audit, Tools, and Education.
Audits
The audit portion of your score is calculated based on several factors:
The number of audits your organization has undergone. More audits typically indicate a higher commitment to security.
The time since your last audit. Regular audits demonstrate a continued focus on maintaining secure systems.
How you handle findings from audits. Resolving findings quickly and thoroughly contributes positively to your score, while unresolved or unacknowledged findings can lower your score.
How often critical findings appear in your audits. If you have consistently had audits with no critical findings, it demonstrates a mature security posture which enhances your score.
Tools
The tools portion of your score is influenced by:
The number of security products you use. Using more security tools shows a greater investment in cybersecurity.
The relevance of the security products you use. Your score can be positively impacted if you are using products that are relevant to your specific needs.
The impact of the security products you use. Using security products that have a high impact on your cybersecurity health contributes positively to your score.
Education
The education portion of your score is based on:
The number of security awareness sessions your team has attended. Regular participation in these sessions indicates a commitment to cybersecurity knowledge.
The variety of security sessions completed. Attending a variety of sessions suggests a comprehensive approach to security education.
The rate of employee participation in these sessions. Higher participation rates demonstrate a company-wide commitment to security education.
Please note that all these components play a vital role in the calculation of your security score. By focusing on these areas, you can take concrete actions to improve your organization's overall security posture and your security score.
